HTML5 Specs and Capabilities
Rich media ad units powered by HTML5 technology can be advantageous to run for an interactive and engaging ad experience. In head-to-head tests against static ads, the majority of HTML5 ads outperform on performance, here is some insight as to why.
Why Consider HTML5 Ads?
Several elements can be added to enhance a user’s interaction when leveraging these ad units. HTML5 ads can include:
- An auto-play, looping carousel
- Hotspots on hover, for more information
- 360-degree view of a product
- Store locations within proximity
- A countdown in real-time to an event
- An auto-scrolling disclaimer or important safety information
Customizations can also be done to allow for multiple click URLs. These can be tracked to then report on the best performing CTA, all within one ad unit.
Carousel
An example would be if you have a carousel of products, each product can click out individually, and by adding in UTMs for each click URL, HTML5 ads can determine which products are of higher interest to the target audience.

Another option would be to have multiple products with hotspots. When hovering on these hotspots, the price and description of the product can appear. Clicking on the hotspot would allow for the user to shop that particular item.

Are There File Size Constraints?
Many of these elements would not be possible on a static display ad, but a benefit of using HTML5 is that these executions are quite small in file size, therefore relatively quick to load.
Suggested file size for optimal loading speed: 150 KB - 750 KB
Maximum file size: 2 MB
To benefit from the most scale, we support HTML5 ads in the following sizes:

- Mobile Full-Page Interstitial - Landscape (480 x 320)
